Wholesale
Provider to Realize 45 to 50 Percent
Revenue Growth Using VocalData's IP
Centrex Solution
Atlanta
- Booth #11731 at SUPERCOMM - June
3, 2003 - VocalData Inc., an application
developer of hosted IP telephony services,
today announced that Apollo Broadband,
a Kansas City-based broadband provider,
has selected VocalData's VOISS application
server for its hosted PBX service.
The service will be deployed in July
2003.
Apollo
Broadband, a "carrier's carrier,"
sells last mile broadband access to
CLECs and ISPs in combination with
local and long distance services.
Utilizing the VOISS solution, Apollo
Broadband will add enhanced local
voice capabilities to its service
offering. Apollo Broadband expects
to see growth in its revenue stream
by 45 to 50 percent, while improving
its cost structure and its ability
to control service quality.
In
addition to residential features such
as E911 and basic PBX capabilities,
Apollo Broadband is offering a web
portal, unified messaging, and a true
"one number" solution, which
allows the user to combine mobile,
home and business calls with one point
of access. Users can reduce long distance
charges or establish a remote presence
by selecting a telephony number from
various locations all across the US.
"VocalData's
solution allows us to reach an attractive
wholesale price point while bundling
converged services on one bill, resulting
in services that are 30 to 40 percent
less than the incumbent," explained
William Wells, president and CEO of
Apollo Broadband. "VocalData
provides the widest breadth in protocol
support-from SIP to MGCP to SCCP-which
gives Apollo Broadband more flexibility
in meeting customer's feature needs
and phone preferences. The degree
of application integration, including
VocalData's built-in VOISS Proxy Firewall
for enterprise firewall traversal,
is a key factor enabling Apollo Networks
to launch our new IP telephony service
in record time."
"The
entrance of wholesale providers like
Apollo Broadband into the IP telephony
market is validation that the market
is gaining momentum, as more service
providers see the opportunity to invest
a little, to grow a lot," said
Mark Whittier, vice president of corporate
marketing, VocalData. "Apollo
Broadband is adding higher-value voice
features and applications to their
existing product line, in order to
offer a compelling value to their
customers."
